Each and every cell of our body requires nourishment.Nourishment comes in the form of food as well as thoughts.Most of the time when we think of health we think about our food habits and it is very important also.But we neglect our thoughts.
Thoughts have profound effect on our bodies and how the food get absorbed in our bodies.It is said that our GUT HAS THE BRAIN. And brain requires food in the form of thoughts. When we eat junk food our body start telling us that “I am not getting healthy food” by making itself sluggish, diseased. But poor brain cannot tell us that ‘I am getting stuffed with negative thoughts’ please change your thinking pattern. We go on like this until our health starts deteriorating in spite of eating healthy food.
Then we go too doctor and get diagnosed with stress , anxiety etc etc.The list goes on. And going to doctor is necessary too. But we can help our doctors in getting us into good health and help him in treating us by changing our thought patterns.When we always stay in the continuous state of negative thoughts and hurries our thoughts start becoming negative and complex.
I can explain all these things so easily because I also went through all these things.It is so easy to flow with negative thoughts that at some point it feels like we enjoy it. And if we don’t have anything to think about then start worrying about very little things of future.
It is necessary to break that chain of thoughts and stop it from becoming a cocoon. Paying attention to PRESENT is very important.I know how important it is to plan about future and it is so difficult to not to think about the past.But few minutes in a day without these worries and memories make our mind so fresh and powerful.
Self help books are great in giving dimensions to how we think. And while reading they give us inspiration and motivation.But we need to put that into practice.I was also in the habit of thinking thinking and thinking that I never enjoyed anything around me.But now when I think about those days , I feel really bad/I have to bring myself back. Again I have to tell myself, that I have wasted that time, don’t waste it anymore.Be present in your NOW.
Exercising these simple techniques has helped me a lot and these are good for everybody.
- Sit anywhere and relax the body.Calm down .Tell yourself you don’t have to do anything. Just let things happen.
Relaxing body is also important while eating because only relaxed atmosphere and relaxed body takes all the nutrients from healthy food which we eat. It also helps in pushing away the stress.
- Take deep breaths consciously.Pay attention to inhalation and exhalation.Start from few breaths.
Starting from few breaths is important because we have so many distractions in the form of technological gadgets, lot of things to do. But when we start from few we can tame our mind from wandering here and there.
- Let the thoughts come and go .Don’t start weaving around the thoughts and don’t stress about the positive or negative thoughts.They are mere thoughts.
While relaxing the body it is very important that we we let go our thoughts without thinking about whether it is good or bad.Stop weaving around the thoughts and
- If it becomes difficult to shed off any negative thought just replace it with something positive.
Some times the negative thoughts just don’t go. Then replace it with some good thought. Doing this over and over helps in detouring the thoughts naturally which is very important.Our mind become more relaxed and calm which helps in giving happy dimensions to life.
We know that stress also effects our eating patterns and we start craving foods which are not good for us. While
It is sometimes very difficult to avoid negative thoughts and I personally know it very well. I have gone through it and now also I have the habit of basking in thoughts of worries of tomorrow. Also I enjoy the memories of past . we all do. But fortunately my mind can differentiate now that it is not a thing to be enjoyed rather let it go and I will see when the situation will come.It is harder said than done but it could be done with little practice.It’s a thoughts.
Gradually start doing these rituals before having food and this improves our gut health.This will shift our minds from being objects of worry to more meaningful powerhouse.Having positive thoughts improves our gut health. Our digestive system produces more digestive juices, and enzymes which eventually increases digestion.
